Categories

This competition offers two distinct categories for participants to showcase their talent and creativity.

Category A : Science and Technology

Science and technology is an interdisciplinary topic encompassing science, technology, and their interactions. Science is a systematic enterprise that builds and organises knowledge through explanations and predictions about nature and the universe. Technology is the collection of techniques and processes for producing goods or services or accomplishing objectives such as scientific investigation.

Category B : Social Science

Social science is the branch of science devoted to the study of societies and the relationships among individuals within those societies. It encompasses a wide array of academic disciplines, including anthropology, archaeology, economics, human geography, linguistics, mathematics, management science, media studies, political science, psychology, and history.

Rules & Regulations

Each participation should consist of a maximum FIVE (5) members and no additional members are allowed.

The leader of the project must be a student.

The following entries will not be eligible for this competition:

  • - An innovation that is a copy of another work.
  • - An innovation that has the potential to enrage the public or include values that are incompatible with morality, public health, or welfare.
  • - An innovation that may be subject to intellectual property (IP) conflicts or disagreements.

Participants are required to fill out an individual entry form for each invention.

Participants are responsible to obtain intellectual property (IP) protection for their exhibitions.

The registration form should be submitted to GDIID 5 organiser by 23rd May 2025.

The information provided in the registration form is accepted in its entirety. The organiser of GDIID 2025 will not be held responsible for any mistakes in the translation or wording of details published in the programme book or e-proceedings.

By participating in the competition, participants are responsible for their own actions and agree not to hold the organiser responsible for any losses, damages, or liabilities incurred during their participation in the competition.

The jurors or members of the organising committee are not responsible for any issues arising from or associated with the competition results or actions.

The reviewers' decisions are final, and no disputes or appeals will be entertained.

The cash prizes will be awarded in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).

Registration & Submission Guidelines

Register Your Project

Download the abstract template from the website. Click on the registration link and fill out the Google Form with required information.

Letter of Acceptance

Once registration is complete and the abstract is reviewed, an LOA will be emailed to the participants within 5 working days.

Make Payment

Payment can be made through the website before the payment deadline (13th May, 2025). After payment, upload the proof of payment along with the video presentation and extended abstract (optional) to the website.

Submit Video Presentation

Upload the video presentation to any cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive). Submit the drive link along with the extended abstract (optional) on the website. Refer to the guidelines for video and extended abstract submission.

Judging Process

The panel of appointed experts will review and evaluate all submitted projects. Participants are encouraged to promote their videos on the GDIID YouTube channel to win the "Best Video Award".

Announcement of Results

The results of the competition will be announced on the GDIID 2025 website, YouTube channel, and participants' emails.
